TELACU EDUCATION FOUNDATION

TELACU, The East Los Angeles Community Union , is a non-profit community development corporation, founded in 1968 to assist in the rebuilding of communities through the creation of businesses and jobs, affordable housing and by increasing educational opportunities for its youth.

Scholarships are provided by TELACU, individual and corporate sponsors and participating universities and colleges.

Scholarships range from $500 to $3,000 , which includes matching funds from the college.

Scholarship Criteria:

*Be a permanent resident of unincorporated East Los Angeles, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Huntington Park, City of Los Angeles, Montebello, Monterey Park, Pico Rivera, Santa Ana, South Gate or other communities selected by the TELACU Education foundation for inclusion in the scholarship program. 

*Be a first-generation college student

*Be from a low-income family 

*Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

*Have a minimum GPA of 2.5

*Must have outstanding academic potential

*Long-term commitment to the community
